International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

This year’s theme is #EmbraceEquity. Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #EmbraceEquity.

Working from home or can’t get to campus on March 8th? You can still participate by striking the #EmbraceEquity pose to show solidarity, downloading a web media background, downloading IWD social media cards, adding an IWD advocacy signature block to your emails, or taking a photo of yourself holding up a #EmbraceEquity selfie card. Send us your photos at or tag one of our affinity groups on social media.
