Sovereign Schools Project Discussion with Phil Gover

Phil Gover runs the Sovereign Schools Project, which
partners with education non-profits and tribes to build Native-community
centered public charter schools in urban and rural areas. The Sovereign
Schools Project believes that education is the next frontier for tribes to
reclaim a vital aspect of tribal governance by de-colonizing the education of
Native youth and indeed all youth with open and free access to public schools
that affirm and celebrate indigenous history and culture. Phil will present
on the project and its current efforts to launch schools in Oklahoma, and
time will be reserved for a discussion.
