AACC First-Year Hallo-Fest

Mark your calendars for the best Halloween event on campus…the AACC First-Year Hallo-Fest this Sunday from 1-5 PM! Drop by to get candy, make slime, and decorate cookies! There will also be a scavenger hunt from 1-3 PM and the first three teams (groups of 3-4) to finish the hunt will get AACC merch! From 3-5 PM, we’ll be showing Kiki’s Delivery Service and The Medium; choose based on your horror tolerance! If you come in a costume, you will get an additional mini prize.

Intercultural Spirit Stories Night

Come join us in telling cultural ghost stories, sharing our spirit beliefs and/or cultural folklore! The cultural centers will be sharing stories, including Javanese ghost folklore and traditional Mexican folktales on La Llorona and El Cucuy. There will also be time to share your own stories! This event also includes trick-or-treating of cultural snacks! This intercultural event is open to members of all cultural houses, including graduate students.

Senior Stories: Annelise Ratner and Ryan Zhou

Join us for our AACC Senior Stories series! We’ll get to know each other in a more intimate setting, cherish the diversity of experiences in our community, and of course, celebrate our seniors.
Annelise and Ryan’s senior stories will take place on Friday, November 11th from 5-6 pm. There’ll be yummy Asian snacks :)

Join us to make and eat something tasty. Desserts that make you happy! Desserts that will be sampled include Boba, Riz bi Haleeb, Jalebi, and Ferni. Sweet tooths are welcome!

Media & Munch Club #1

Let’s talk about what we consume! Join us for snacks & chats on media that portray AAPI+MENA people and stories!
In this first session, we’ll be talking about Launchpad, just one of the many diversity initiatives by major media & entertainment companies today. The short films covered in this session will tap into themes of diasporic EAsian and SAsian stories, gender roles & construction, Islam in America, and childhood/coming of age narratives.
